Listings quoted in US dollars are charged in EC dollars at US$1 = EC$2.70, converted once, on the boat price, before any fee is worked out. Both numbers are on your quote so nothing is a surprise at the jetty.

How it works
- Pick your crossing and say whether you want one way or a return.
- Choose the date, the departure time and how many are travelling. The quote updates as you go.
- Send the request. Nothing is charged, and you are not committed.
- The operator confirms the boat and takes payment, or you finish the booking in the SKN Transit app.
Requests need at least 3 hours before departure. Twenty four hours ahead is better: it gives the captain time to schedule the crew and gives you the pick of the departure times.
Private charter questions
What is a private charter?
The whole boat is yours. You choose the crossing, the date and the departure time, and nobody else is booked onto it. It is the difference between waiting for a scheduled ferry and leaving when you want to, and on the routes below it is often the only way to make the crossing at all.
How much does a private boat charter cost in St. Kitts and Nevis?
Crossings currently start at EC$216 for the whole boat one way. Longer crossings cost more, and a return leg is priced separately. Every listing shows its own price, and the booking fee below is the only thing SKN Transit adds.
Is there a water taxi between St. Kitts and Nevis?
Yes. The crossings between St. Kitts and Nevis on this page are run as private water taxis, so you are not tied to the scheduled ferry timetable. Popular pairings are Reggae Beach or Christophe Harbour on the St. Kitts side with Oualie Beach, Four Seasons or Park Hyatt on the Nevis side.
How many people fit on a charter?
Most water taxi crossings carry up to four guests on the flat boat price, with extra guests charged per head. Larger boats take more. Each listing states its own party size and its ceiling, and the request form will not let you ask for more than the boat holds.
How far ahead do I need to book?
At least 3 hours before departure is the hard floor, but book 24 hours ahead where you can. Captains have to be scheduled, and around cruise calls and public holidays the popular crossings go first.
What does SKN Transit charge?
A booking fee of EC$1.50 per person and a 3% service fee, both shown on your quote before you send anything. The rest of the price is the operator's. Booking fees are non-refundable.
Do I pay on the website?
No. Sending a request here costs nothing and charges nothing. The operator confirms your boat and takes payment, or you can complete the booking in the SKN Transit app. Prices shown here are a quotation until the operator confirms.
Why are some prices in US dollars?
Because that is how the operator quotes them. A water taxi hands out a card in US dollars, so that is the number you are comparing against. The amount actually charged is EC dollars, converted at US$1 = EC$2.70, and both appear on your quote.
Can I be picked up from a beach or a resort?
On the routes listed. Each charter names its own pick-up and drop-off point, which is usually a beach, a marina or a resort jetty rather than the main ferry terminal. If the pairing you want is not listed, send a request on the nearest one and say what you need.
