How it works
- Book before you fly. Pick your resort and vehicle grade and the fare is fixed at that number. No meter, no negotiating at the kerb after a long flight.
- Your driver meets the flight. Arrivals are tracked, so a delayed flight does not lose you the car.
- Pay the driver. SKN Transit does not take payment for transfers. You settle with the driver, in US or EC dollars.
- The return leg is the same fare. Book the trip back to SKB at the same time and it is the same price in reverse.
St. Kitts taxi rates: how they work
Taxi fares in St. Kitts are fixed by route, not run on a meter, which is why they can be published in advance. Every fare is for the whole vehicle, seats one to four passengers, and includes luggage, so a couple pays the same as a family of four. Drivers quote in US dollars, and children under five ride free.
- Airport runs to every major resort are in the fare table above, priced per vehicle in each grade.
- Town and cruise-port trips from Port Zante in Basseterre, and short hops around Frigate Bay, follow the same fixed-fare system.
- Sightseeing by taxi to Brimstone Hill, Romney Manor or Timothy Hill is usually booked as an island tour with a set price per stop.
- Trips to the ferry for Nevis run to the Basseterre terminal: check the ferry schedule first, as the last boat leaves earlier than most people expect.
For any trip that is not in the table, agree the fare and the currency with the driver before you set off. Booking through SKN Transit fixes the number first, so there is nothing to negotiate at the kerb.

Shared shuttles run set routes on a timetable rather than door to door, which makes them the cheap way to move between the beach, town and the airport if your timing is flexible.

Other ways to get from the airport
A transfer is the simplest way to reach your hotel on arrival. After that, renting a car is usually cheaper than taking taxis all week, and you can collect it at the airport counter. Airport taxi questions
How much is a taxi from St. Kitts airport?
Fares run from US$30 (about EC$81) for the closest resorts up to US$80 for the far end of the island, per vehicle rather than per person. The exact fare for each resort is in the table on this page.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. An economy taxi seats one to four passengers for the same fare, so a couple pays what a family of four pays. Luggage is included, and children under five ride free.
Which airport do transfers run from?
Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) in Basseterre, the main airport on St. Kitts. Transfers run in both directions, so the same fare takes you back for your flight home.
Do I need to book an airport transfer in advance?
You do not have to, since taxis meet arriving flights, but booking ahead fixes the price before you travel and means a driver is waiting with your name rather than you joining a queue after a long flight.
Are St. Kitts taxi fares fixed?
Yes. Taxi fares here are set by route, not by meter, which is why they can be published in advance. Agree the fare and the currency before you get in, and remember most drivers quote in US dollars.
How much is a taxi in St. Kitts?
St. Kitts taxi fares are fixed by route and charged per vehicle for one to four passengers, not per person. Airport runs to the resorts are in the fare table on this page, and other trips are quoted on the same fixed-fare basis, so agree the fare before you set off.
Can a transfer take me to the ferry for Nevis?
Yes. Ask for the Basseterre ferry terminal and check the sailing time first, because the last boat leaves earlier than most people expect.
Do I pay SKN Transit or the driver?
The driver. SKN Transit shows you the route and the fare up front and passes your booking on. St. Kitts Nevis Luxury Taxi & Tours confirms the vehicle and takes payment directly.
