Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about using SKN Transit to navigate ferry and cruise schedules across St. Kitts and Nevis.
Ferry Schedules & Routes
Where can I see the next ferry departure?
Open the Schedules page on this site or the home tab of the SKN Transit mobile app. Departures are grouped by day of the week and route, with the next upcoming trip highlighted automatically.
Which routes does SKN Transit cover?
We track all scheduled passenger ferries between St. Kitts and Nevis, including the main Basseterre ↔ Charlestown crossings and seasonal connector services. The full route list is pulled live from the operator schedules and updates as new sailings are added.
Are the times shown guaranteed?
Times are the published schedule. Ferry services can be delayed or cancelled due to weather, sea conditions, or vessel maintenance. We recommend arriving at the terminal at least 30 minutes before departure for boarding.
Where do I board?
All passenger sailings depart from Basseterre Ferry Terminal (St. Kitts) or Charlestown Pier (Nevis). The exact terminal is shown on each schedule card so you know which side you are leaving from.
Cruise Arrivals
How accurate are the cruise arrival times?
Cruise arrivals on the Cruises page come from the official cruise port schedule and are updated multiple times per day. Times can shift on the day of arrival based on sea conditions and port operations.
Can I see how many passengers a ship brings in?
Yes — each cruise card shows the published passenger capacity for that call. This is useful if you run a tour or taxi service and want to know how busy Basseterre will be that day.
Why isn’t today’s cruise showing?
The page only displays the next 30 days of upcoming arrivals. Cruises that have already departed are removed from the list automatically.
The Mobile App
Where can I download the SKN Transit app?
SKN Transit is free on the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android). Use the buttons at the top or bottom of any page to install it.
Do I need an account to use the app?
No. You can browse ferry schedules, routes, and cruise arrivals without signing in. An account becomes useful later once in-app ticketing is enabled, so you can save trips and view receipts.
Can I buy ferry tickets in the app?
Not yet. In-app ticket sales are in development and will launch with the next major release. For now the app is a free schedule and tracking companion — tickets are still purchased at the terminal.
Does the app work offline?
You need an internet connection for the first load so the app can fetch the latest schedules. After that, the most recent schedules stay available for quick offline viewing.
